MEDIA RELEASE
SINGAPORE – 6 August 2008 – Loftec Private Limited, a Singapore start-up, announced today its launch of clickeateeonline.com – a FREE, open access golf reservations system that allows users to book tee-off times instantly at 13 courses in the region, including Keppel Club, Sembawang Country Club, Jurong Country Club and Ria Bintan. The list of courses is expected to grow to 80 by end of the year.
Inspiration for such a portal came from the founder, David Goh’s own experience with limited access to golf courses. “Most of us started out driving to Malaysia to play golf simply because most of the local golf clubs are off-limits if you are not a member. But when you visit these local golf clubs, you find that the courses are not full every day. If the clubs can allow some access to visitors, they will be able to get an added revenue stream and use it to improve the club facilities and services for its members.”
David elaborates, “Like airlines, golf courses have a perishable product - why let it go to waste. They can segment their product like the airlines’ First, Business and Economy class - everyone can have access to the basic product of flying from point A to B on the same plane, but enjoy different levels of priority, comfort and exclusivity.” The comparison with the airline industry is no coincidence as David spent 10 years with Singapore Airlines management before taking the leap of faith for entrepreneurship.
“The way for the game of golf to continue to grow in Singapore is to increase the utilization of golf courses. We can’t afford to build more public courses amid the scarcity of land. Yet, none have been able to do so without infringing on the privileges of club members. Through the latest web technology, we have found a way for members and non-members to co-exist.”
Until now, the process of reserving a round of golf in Singapore and the region can also be frustrating. Making phone calls (and for tourists, long-distance calls) to multiple clubs to find available slots and various pricing deals can be time consuming. This will all change with clickateeonline.com. The site adopts a unique Web 2.0 look and feel that displays course information, prices and availability - all in one single page without the user having to click the mouse. It also allows users to update golf scores and track their personal golf statistics online for FREE.
Loftec has already started working on Phase 2 which promises many more nifty features for the golfers. “We want to build an entire golf ‘ecosystem’ around clickateeonline.com”.
Key features currently include:
• Real-time golf availability and price display for 13 courses
• Immediate confirmation of golf reservations
• Quick overview of golf courses
• Detailed Course description, including hole-by-hole photos and tips on how to play
• My Game that allows golfers to edit or cancel their online bookings
• My Score – a personal score repository that let golfers submit their hole-by-hole scores online
• My Stats – an interactive chart that plots the golfers performance over time, with callouts of specific scorecards and score breakdown

I chanced upon this website while surfing for a tee time at SCC. This is a very useful website, it make booking of tee time much simplier and cost effective. Excellant job!
HI CY,
It is encouraging to hear that you like it. Do drop by our site as we bring more courses to you.
If you have any feedback, we would love to hear them =)
Cheers
I think the biggest frustration with the site being - there is a perpetual error for the the tee-times … that completely defeats the purpose for the user to go online to look at booking tee times online!
this clearly needs immediate resolution
Hi Sandra,
We have received similar feedback from users like yourself who are not able to see the tee-times on our site. This is possibly due to firewalls. Firewalls in office networks or firewall softwares like zonealarm allow common ports number 443 and 80, for secured and normal web access respectively. Our site uses other ports and thus firewalls potentially makes our site inaccessible.
I assure you that we are looking into this and you will be informed once we get this resolved.
That said, the team at Clickateeonline.com, appreciate your valued feedback.
